“ATTENTION ALL NEW SOUTH WALES RESIDENTS AND OTHERS WHO CARE ABOUT OUR NATIVE FORESTS AND THE PLANTS AND ANIMALS THAT LIVE IN THEM AND RELY ON THEM FOR THEIR SURVIVAL
“The New South Wales Government has drafted proposed changes to timber harvesting in the coastal forests, forests in which many of our native orchids grow. Information about these plans can be found on their web site here: https://engage.environment.nsw.gov.au/forests?category=logging&tool=news_feed.
You will note that there is a public consultation period which will expire on 13th July so we have until that date to make submissions. There is a link on that web page to where you can make an online submission.
Environmental groups are very concerned about the ramification of these plans and the North East Forests Alliance page contains links to material which discuss the issues: https://engage.environment.nsw.gov.au/forests?category=logging&tool=news_feed
This is our opportunity to tell the NSW government what we think about these issues and their plans.”
